1. The short version
You give us minimum data. We use it only to make the app work. We never sell it. You can delete everything, anytime.
2. Information we collect
You give us:
- Phone number — for OTP verification (never shown to other users)
- Profile info — name, age, gender, city, profile photo
- Chat & call data — messages, gifts sent, call duration
- Payment info — handled by Razorpay/Stripe; we never store card numbers
We collect automatically:
- Device info — model, OS version, app version, language
- Approximate location (for "people near you") — only if you allow
- Usage analytics — what features you use, crashes, performance
3. How we use it
- To run the app — match you, deliver messages, complete calls
- To verify identity (phone OTP, profile review)
- To process payments and coin transactions
- To prevent abuse — automated systems flag suspicious behavior
- To improve the product — anonymized analytics, never sold
4. What we share
With other users: Only your profile (name, age, photo, city) and chat content.
Third-party services we use:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, push notifications
- Agora.io — video & voice call infrastructure
- Razorpay / Google Pay — payment processing
- Google Analytics — anonymized usage data
What we never do: Sell your data. Share your phone number. Show your contact info to other users.
5. How long we keep it
- Active account: as long as you use Romio
- After deletion: removed within 30 days, except where law requires retention
- Backups: cleared within 90 days of deletion
6. Your rights
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Correct: Edit your profile anytime in-app
- Delete: Settings → Privacy → Delete Account
- Export: Email contact@romio.live
- Object: Withdraw consent anytime
7. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Passwords are never stored — we use phone OTP only. Servers are hosted in secure Tier-3 data centers in India.
8. Children
Romio is for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the platform, email us at contact@romio.live — we will remove the account immediately.
9. Cookies & tracking
The Romio website uses essential cookies for sign-in and an analytics cookie (anonymized). The app uses standard mobile analytics. You can opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy → Analytics.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll notify you via in-app banner and email if anything material changes. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
